Ceilidh Night @ Tayvallich Community Centre
After a full day of varied and exciting activities exploring our shared heritage with the pupils of Tayvallich Primary School, we returned to our hostel to shower and change before returning to Tayvallich for a Ceilidh Night and Chilli Supper!!!
Fun & Games
The evening began with outdoor games in the Sports Zone and a 'Beetle Drive' inside the hall.
We joined the pupils from Tayvallich to play tig, 'Olly the Octopus', 'Boat Race', 'Team Ball Relay' and Dodge Ball outside the hall, overlooking Tayvallich Bay while inside we split into tables to roll the dice. |
The Main Event.......
We had eaten so much we wondered how we could move never mind dance!!!! Everyone helped clear the tables & dishes and it didn't take long to clear the hall, ready for the dancing to begin.
Even the boys that were reluctant to dance during the day were excited as we all paired up for the first of the three dances we had learned.... 'The Canadian Barn Dance'. After our quick lesson earlier in the day we didn't think we could remember it enough but it was amazing to watch as everyone walked forward, hopped, walked back, hopped, stepped to the side and clapped all at the same time!!!! Everyone was either laughing or smiling and it was great fun. We had hardly caught our breath when we were organised into two groups for 'Strip the Willow'.... this was great fun as we took our turn to work our way down the line twirling with everyone and our partner.
